Kunst / Wouldn’t you think?…

Eine wirklich spannende Zeit. Eigentlich sollte ich jetzt in der Kalahari sein. Stattdessen wühlen ich mich durch hunderte Stunden Filmmaterial. Auch nicht schlecht. Es ist unglaublich, wie viele Geschichten und Erkenntnisse in 27 Jahren im afrikanischen Busch aufgelaufen sind. Schwerpunkt ist natürlich das neue Kinoprojekt und der Löwenfilm zur Serie „Maleika erzählt“.

Mein Respekt vor den Überlebenstechniken unser tierischen Mitbewohner des Planeten. Meine Nähe zu den Tieren wirft Fragen aus, die ich am besten in der Kunst beantworten kann. Es fliesst gerade so aus mir heraus und der Kopf ist voller Inspirationen. Das Wunder Kunst, das die Realität veredelt und schonungslos bloss stellt.

Erdmännchen Wegbegleiter meiner Arbeit, die wunderbar eine Brücke zwischen Freud und Leid schlagen. Deshalb hier ein neues, gerade vollendetes Werk ohne Worte:

A really exciting time. Actually I should be now in the Kalahari. Instead I go over hundreds of hours of footage. No complaints! It is just incredible how many stories and ideas went on stock after all this 27 years amidst the African bush. My current focus is the new cinema project and the lion movie of the series „Maleika’s African Tales‘.

My respect for the survival techniques of our animal cohabitors of these planet. My closiness to the animals brings up essential questions which I can answer in art. It’s just breaking out of my mind. There are so much deep inspirations. The wonder ART, which cultivates reality and strips the truth bare.

Meerkats are companions of my work all the time. They bridge joy and grief in such an special way. So, here a new artwork which I just concluded:

Wonder & Relaxation

Ich stelle mir gerade vor, dass die Tiere uns als Attraktion im Zoo besuchen. Was würden sie denken? Na, erst einmal würden sie sich über das Phänomen ‚Angst‘ wundern und dann würden sie sich entspannen, denn es würde ihnen klar werden, dass der Planet solche Wesen bald los wird und alles gut wird. Sie wären sich sicher, dass sich die Natur durchsetzt…

I jus try to conceive that animals visit us in a zoo and we are the attraction. What would they think? Well, first they would really wonder about the phenomenon ‚Fear‘. Soon after they would relax, as they would know that this planet will be very soon rid of such beings. And they could be sure that nature prevails….

The real Queen – Maleika

Es ist derzeit eine wirklich spannende Schaffensperiode. Nicht einfach, denn der Busch fehlt mir, und eigentlich sollte ich jetzt unter den Katzen in der Kalahari sein. Aber die Arbeit im Filmstudio und im Atelier im Wechsel ist sehr spannend. Und in der Malerei sind mir die Seelen meiner Liebsten ganz nah:

It’s a real thrilling period of my work. It’s nevertheless moemtnarily not easy, as I miss the bush and should be actually now amidst the big cats in Africa. Neues Aquarell /New Watercolor Painting

In meinem Atelier gibt es keinen Lockdown. Ganz im Gegenteil – ich wandere derzeit zwischen dem Filmstudio, wo ich an dem neuen Löwenfilm arbeite, und dem Atelier hin un her. Und beides befruchtet sich gegenseitig und die künstlerischen Werke bekommen gerade einen besonders tiefgehenden Sinn. Kunst bewegt….

In my art-studio I have not a lockdown at all. On the contrary, I shift between the filmstudio, where I currently work on our next lion movie, and the art-studio. And both is very inspirational – indeed for the art and the movie. I would say that the artistic work becomes a much more intransic sense. Art moves….

Frischer Wind / New Breeze

Immer wenn mich die Gesellschaft zum Verzweifeln bringt, beginne ich plötzlich mit der Aquarellmalerei. Ich benutze natürlich nicht Wasser, sondern Weisswein und ertränke die Sorgen in frische Farben. Dennoch kann man sein Seelenleben nicht verbergen und was herauskommt, ist dann die pure Wahrheit. Mehr muss man dazu nicht sagen:

Whenever I become desperate about the society I suddenly start to create watercolor paintings. Of course, I don’t use water, instead white wine and drown my sorrows in piercing colors. Well, you can’t disclose your inner thoughts and what bursts to the outside is the pur truth. There is nothing I can add:

What is real?

Dies Frage stelle ich hier in der Kunst, und dieses Kunstwerk ist gerade vollendet worden. So mancher Politiker schaut momentan in den Spiegel und meint, er würde nun einen Löwen sehen…. Hm, Geparden haben keinen Spiegel, sondern sehen manchmal ihr Spiegelbild im Wasser. Und was tun sie dann (habe das schon mehrfach gefilmt!)? Sie fauchen ihre Reflexion an. Ich kenne viele, die sollten das auch mal tun, denn Löwen sind sie auf jeden Fall nicht…

I address this question in my art. This piece I just finalized. In these days, some of the politicians gaze into a mirror and suddenly think they see a lion…. Hm, cheetahs have no mirror, but sometimes recognize their reflexion in water. And what will they do (I filmed it several times)? They snarl at it. I know quite a few they should do this as well, because at any rate they are no lions .

All becomes Well – Kunst hilft und heilt….

Da schaut doch Klein-Martha ganz hoffnungsfroh und ein wenig verwundert in die Welt. Kein Wunder, dass momentan Maleika ständig durch meinen Kopf geistert und mich auch im Atelier begleitet. Sie hatte in ihrem Leben ganz andere Dinge zu bewältigen und lacht sich gerade über unsere Gesellschaft. Eigentlich hoffe ich, dass sie sich das nicht vom Gepardenhimmel anschauen muss. Das wäre in etwa so, als würde sie wochenlang einer panischen Gnuherde bei der Flussüberquerung zuschauen. Nee, da lieber der gesegnete Katzenschlaf:

Proud Prince – neues Kunstwerk / New Artwork

Dies ist eine weiterer Akteur des neuen Kinoprojektes – klein , aber oho. Träume sind die treibende Kraft nicht nur der Kunst, sondern auch der Natur. Tiere träumen sehr viel intensiver als Menschen, weil sie bessere Schlaftechniken haben…. Hoffen wir, dass aus dem kleinen Prinz ein ganz großer wird:

This is another figure of our just embarking new cinema project – small, but proud! Dreams are not only pushing good art, but also nature. Animals dream significantly more intensive than humans, as they have the better technics to sleep and relax… Let’s cross fingers that the small prince becomes once a very big one:

Der Kunstkatalog wächst / The Art-Catalogue is growing

Es wird fleißig gearbeitet und die Archivierung und Katalogisierung der Kunstwerke kommt voran. Wegen meiner Arbeitswut und kreativen Explosionen, wird der ganze Prozess aber mindestens 2 Jahre dauern. Bald wird ein erstes Ergebnis auf der Homepage zu sehen sein.

Hier schon einmal ein paar Beispiele.

Achtung: Vom 29.03. bis 05.04.2020 haben wir Open Galerie, täglich (außer 01.04.2020) von 16 bis 20 Uhr!

We are busy working to archive and catalogue my artworks. Soon you will see more on my homepage. Here just some examples. It will take us at least 2 years to complete ist, as I always was a busy and proactive contemporary…
