Warten auf Mittagessen / Waiting for Lunch

Magic ist ganz schön gefordert. 7 Babys zu ernähren ist eine große Herausforderung. Doch die Gepardin macht alles mit ihrer Erfahrung wett. Sie jagt am liebsten Impalas zwischen den Büschen. Und dann essen ihr die kleinen Rabauken fast alles weg. 

Hier gibt es tolle Weihnachtsgeschenke. 

Magic is permanently challenged. To feed 7 babies is a drag. But the cheetah manages to get through because of her enormous experience. She prefers to hunt impalas between bushes. Finally the small rascals eat most of the food.

Löwenrudel mit 9 Babys / Pride of Lions with 9 Babies

…und noch dazu sind sie sehr aktiv und lieben es auf Granitfelsen rumzuklettern. Ich habe eine intensive Zeit mit den 3 Müttern und ihren Kindern. Es wird gespielt, protestiert und Milch getrunken. Und dann geht es in die Höhle im Granitkopje und die Mütter gehen auf die Jagd.

Wie wärs, wir treffen uns beim nächsten Afrikawochenende vom 20. – 22.03.2020. Es ist auch ein tolles Weihnachtsgeschenk. Hier mehr Infos.

… and they are utmost acitve an love to climb the granite rocks. I have a great time with 3 mothers and their kids. They, play, complain and suckle milk. And then they disappear into their cave and the mother embark on a hunt.

Leopardenmutter mit Sohn / Leopard Mother with her Son

Das war ein spannender Tag mit einer Leopardenmutter. Erst hat sie am Morgen nach neugeborenen Topi-Antilopen gesucht, dann hat sie später ihren Sohn getroffen. Tolle Action! Der Kerl hat sich ganz schön verletzt.

Endlich ist Mami zurück / Finally Mum is back

This was a thrilling day with a leopard mum. first she investigated on the higher grounds for new born topis. Then she meet her son. Nice action. But the guy is quite injured.

Guter Produktionsstart / Good Start of the Production

Der erste Produktionstag in der Masai Mara war trotz Regen ziemlich gut. Wir haben eine Gepardin mit 7 Babys entdeckt (dazu später mehr) und sind den 5 Gepardenmännern gefolgt. Mehr will ich noch nicht verraten:-)

The first production day in the Masai Mara was quite good. We spotted a cheetah with 7 babies (later more about this) and followed 5 male cheetahs. That’s it for now:-)

In Maleikas Zuhause / In Maleika’s Home

Bin nun in Maleikas Zuhause und hoffe auf tolle Geschichten für das neue große Kinoprojekt. Übrigens wird MALEIKA nächstes Jahr in USA und Canada starten! Maleika wird die berühmteste Gepardin der Welt und das hat sie sich so verdient.

Es ist immer noch schwer hier zu sein und die bezaubernde Freundin und Mutter nicht mehr zu treffen. Die Erinnerung tut weh.

Maleika zu Weihnachten

I’m now in Maleika’s Home and looking forward to catch up with some great stories for the new great cinema movie. By the way, Maleika will be released in USA and Canada next year! Maleika will become the most famous cheetah on this planet. This she deserves so much!

It’s still a bit of a hell to be here and are not able to meet the adorable friend and mother. Memory of so many intimate moments can hurt so much….

Die Geschichte / The Storyboard

An diesem wunderschönen See in Italien habe ich heute begonnen an der Geschichte des nächsten Kinofilms zu schreiben. Es wird ein sehr großes und ambitioniertes Projekt! Es geht um einen Naturfilm, großes Entertainment, „Storytelling“ und der Aufgabe an das Thema „Artenschutz“ nachhaltig heran zu führen. Wir hoffen auf zahlreiche Partnerschaften. Das Projekt hat unglaubliches Potential. Und in dem magischen Umfeld kam auch gleich der kreative Durchbruch!

Mgischer Ort für einen magischen Kinofilm…

At this beautiful and magic lake in Italy I started to work on the storyboard for the next cinema movie. It will become a great and very ambitious project! It evolves around a nature film, great entertainment, storytelling and the duty to give sustainable approach to the subject ‚conservation‘. We hope to create great partnerships. The project has incredible potential. And in the magic surrounding of the lake a immediately had a creative break-through!

Löwenrudel – zu groß? / Pride – too big?

Es ist sehr überraschend, wie groß das Aggressionspotential eines 30-köpfigen Löwenrudels sein kann, dem ich insgesamt 2 Monate folgte. Ich vermute, dass die Größe des Rudels und die zunehmende Trockenheit in dem Gebiet eine Rolle spielen. Vermutlich spüren die Löwen schon sehr frühzeitig die aufkommenden Probleme mit der Konkurrenz mit anderen Löwenrudeln und der anstehenden Nahrungsknappheit. Was kann man daraus für uns lernen?

Event „Eye of the Leopard“

It is a bit surprising how enormous the aggression within a pride of altogether 30 lions can be. I followed these cats for 2 months. I guess that the size of the pride as well as the increasing drought might be responsible for this. Presumably the lions feel in a very early stage the looming problems with competition between the specie itself and the upcoming shortage of food. What could we learn of this?

Löwenland / Lioncountry

Nach dem Auftakt mit Leopardenmutter und Baby flogen wir dann im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes ins Löwenland – hoch an den Kwandofluss. Das Rudel dort hatte zunächst 9 Babys – und alle waren superfrech, was definitiv toll für die Filmkamera ist.

After the start with a leopard mother and her baby we flew literally to the lion country – up to the Kwando River. The pride there had initially 9 babies – and all of them were impressive naughty which is promising for the film camera.

Alles begann mit… / It started with…

… mit einer Leopardin und ihr supersüßes Baby….. Wir waren so happy!!! Na auf dem Weg ins Delta war erst einmal früh um 5 Uhr noch im Dunkeln ein Wildhunderudel mit 25 Hunden…. Es ist auch schon 2 Monate her:-)

… with a leopard and her super cute baby… We were so happy!!! Well, on the way into the delta we bumped into a pack of 25 wild dogs. But it was around 5 am and still dark… and it is already 2 months ago:-)
